The joy over Napoleon’s loss was celebrated extensively by the victors, but in the committees, under the command of the Chancellor of State Metternich, they were also working: they succeeded in creating a European order of peace that lasted for a hundred years. This book explains the historic connections, but also takes the reader into conference halls and ball rooms, the offices of the secret police, and to the salons of eminent ladies.

Anna Ehrlich, a lawyer and historian, has been offering informative and entertaining city tours in Vienna for thirty years. In her books, she provides a fascinating historic overview on topics of the history of morality, medicine, and law.
Christa Bauer works as a tour guide in Vienna. She published numerous articles in historic magazines. Since 2008, she is a board member of the association of certified Vienna tour guides and acts as its president at the moment.
